About Us  | We are avid and active racers and members of the Pacific Northwest Adventure race community. After meeting in early 2004, we started getting into adventure racing and since have done dozens of races as Team Swiss Miss (Roger is the Swiss, Yumay used to be the Miss, now Misses), Team Manny's and since 2005 Team Mergeo.com. In early 2005 Roger started working with Eric Bone and since has produced many very successful BEAST (Barebones Evening Adventure Sprint Tournament) races. Seen as a grassroots event series as well as a niche to the larger adventure races, Eric and Roger additionally organized the Fall BEAST, an off-season adventure race in December. After two Winter Woohoo's, and one Wicked Winter and Winteroba race the Northwest has not seen a Winter Adventure Race in two years. We are excited to bring some more exciting adventure races in the area and what better way to start than with a race everyone has been waiting for!!! |
| Roger Michel is a strong all-around athlete, he backcountry skied and climbed the mountains of his native Switzerland from an early age, later discovering a passion for traveling. In 2000, he was asked to participate in a two-day stage race across the Swiss mountains and since then has developed a passion for adventure sports and endurance racing. He has traveled to over 50 countries and scaled mountains in Asia, Africa and South America. His main sports include trail running, mountain biking, mountaineering, kayaking and a bit of orienteering. Here is Roger's training log . - 2007 - 5th place H.U.R.T 100k Ultramarathon

| Yumay Chang also loves adventure racing, but compared to Roger, her race style is much more mellow and she is out there primarily to enjoy the outdoors and socialize with teammates. She has done almost all the BEAST races put on by Mergo.com as team Mountain Zone, and her team ranked 3rd place at the winter BEAST in 2005. She also raced with Roger in all the street scramble races put on by Mergeo.com and together they ranked 2nd place for the season in 2006. Recently she paced Roger for the last 34 miles of the Cascade Crest Classic 100 Mile run. - 2006 - 2nd place, Mergeo Street Scramble
