All About the Race Welcome to the 15th running of the Ron Herzog 50k at Masonic Park, Granite Falls, WA. This race was started by Chris Ralph as a memorial to her friend Ron Herzog who died of ALS, a debilitating disease that still remains without a cure. In honor of Ron, we have posted a note written by Chris Ralph. Please read it under the "Race History" link to better understand the history behind the race and also follow the link to learn more about the disease.
The check-in and bib pick up is from 6:30-7:30 am. The race briefing starts at 7:45am and race starts at 8am sharp. The race course is a looped course which starts with a gradual 9 mile climb up a logging road, followed by 6.5 miles of Tank Trap exploration, 13 miles of gradual descent on fire road, and ending with a 2.5 mile stretch on pavement to the finish. There will be one aid station about half way. The race has a 9 hour time limit and a 4.5 hour cutoff at the aid station. If you think you cannot complete the course in this time frame, email us. We may offer an early start. |
